Ancient Roman Glass - Hallelujah Jewelry Set
Three antiqued silver pieces engraved with the word Halleluja! in ancient Hebrew script and the other roman glass. The set includes: Hallelujah Pendant, Hallelujah Pin, Hallelujah Earrings.
1st to 6th century C.E.
Adorned with central crosses encircled by wreaths and ivy tendrils, ancient marble slabs were found in many sites from Beth Shean to Nessana. They belonged to chancel screens which adorned churches and synagogues alike during the Byzantine period.
The antique leafy wreath is the perfect foil for this colorful glass pendant, its iridescence echoing centuries of aging, and recalling the fine glass wares created in ancient Israel.
