Israeli Wine Carmel Vineyards Carignan Old Vines Ein Tut 2010
Carmel Winery makes superb wines with grapes grown all over Israel. However, in their Carmel Vineyards collection, they strive to show the unique flavors and qualities of the grapes found in different parts of Israel, separately. Carignan Old Vines Ein Tut is made of 94% Carignan grapes from the Ein Tut area, just south of the Carmel, and 6% Petit Verdot grapes from Binyamina. Matured in Frenck oak barrels for 14 months and then in bottles in the cellar of the Israeli Winery Carmel Winery, this wine is Vintage 2010 and 14.5% alcohol. The wine is a deep scarlet color and is medium to full bodied, with a ripe, very fruity scent hinting at Mediterranean spices which also translates onto the flavor on the palate. The rich, fruity flavor of this wine compliments game-meat or lamb, as well as grilled meats, and also goes perfectly with cheeses.
