Yarden Syrah is a wine of Israel ready for drinking now, but will continue to improve for decade or more from vintage. We recommend enjoying this wine flavored with rich dishes such as Herb coated crispy lamb or meat stew of oxtail cooked in wine.
Cooler temperatures with normal precipitation typified the winter preceding the vintage. Hot weather in March and April, caused early bud awakening. May brought  cool temperatures so normal growth was restored. A short, busy harvest season produced an average crop with high quality potential.
Yarden Syrah  come from contract vineyards: Ortal and Elone HaBashan. The wine was aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
The Galilee (or Galil) in northern Israel is considered Israel's finest wine appellation. This growing area includes the Lower and Upper Galilee and the Golan, which is t he cooler region. The vineyards boast volcanic soil and elevation from 400 to 1200 meters above sea level have snow every winter. The Golan Heights Israeli Winery produces strictly kosher wine and is located in the town of Katzrin in central Golan.
