I want to thank you and your staff for all you did to help us select and receive the beautiful miniature kiddush cups. We purchased these for our seniors who are residents of the Kobernick-Anchin campus here in Sarasota, Florida who previously had been using plastic cups! We dedicated the new kiddush cups at our Kabbalat Shabbat service - residents held the cups with such joy, they loved the Jerusalem design which reminded them of long-ago visits to Israel. Several residents with Alzheimer's spoke up, some for the first time in months. Thank you so much. Rabbi Barbara Aiello, resident rabbi, Kobernick Campus, Sarasota, FL
Israeli jewelry designer Shlomit Ofir creates a traditional gold necklace with a pearl accent. The main element of the handcrafted Daphne piece is two sheaves of leaves in gold plate that meet just below the collarbone. The two sections of leaves are joined by a freshwater pearl, tipped in gold to reflect the metal in the rest of the necklace. This leaf necklace and pearl pendant are reminiscent of antique jewelry, but reflect Ofir's fascination with the natural world. In this design, Ofir forgoes the multiple chains she often uses and suspends the gold and pearl ornaments from a single, delicate, intricately-woven neck chain. Both the leaves and the chain are gold plated. The necklace is modestly proportioned, measuring 16.4 inch (42 cm). This necklace exhibits the versatility and classic styling of Shlomit Ofir's jewelry designs, and can be worn by anyone. 'This is one of my favorites,' Ofir says of the Daphne necklace design. Ofir's designer jewelry in gold and silver plate make fine additions to any collection of gold or silver jewelry and wonderful gifts for collectors of modern Israeli handmade jewelry.
