Hey Shahar, I just wanted you to know that I received my order (two-for-one Galilean Style sandals) on Monday. [It’s late Wednesday night here].
Glass Hanukkah Menorah with Hanukkah and Oil Pitcher
A charming, modern take on a traditional Judaica item, this tinted glass menorah / hanukiah is a beautiful addition to the wintertime celebration of Hanukkah. Its surface is engraved with the Hebrew spelling of Hanukkah (which, ironically, is the only correct way) and a pitcher of oil, referencing the timeless Hanukkah story.
This charming blue-tinted glass Hanukiyah/Menorah is a modern, artsy contribution to the traditional Jewish celebration of Hanukah. Minimalist and geometric in its design, it combines art and and tradition. Engraved on the base of this menorah are Hebrew letters spelling “Chanukah,” and the image of an oil pitcher, symbolic of the original Chanukah miracle that happened in Jerusalem many thousands of years ago.
Every aspect of the Chanukah celebrations serves to commemorate a great miracle that occurred in Israel during the Second Temple period, from the Hebrew acronym for “a great miracle happened there” that’s always present on the dreidel/spinning top toys to the deep-fried treats that many enjoy. The eight-branched Judaica menorah that is lit, adding an additional light with each night of the holiday, references the ancient candelabra that stood in the Temple. In ancient times, the Assyrians invaded Israel, defiling the Temple and all of its holy artifacts in the process. When the Jewish people reclaimed the Holy Land, they sought to restore and rededicate the Temple. However, only one pitcher of pure oil remained. However, miraculously, that one small pitcher was enough to kindle the Menorah lights for eight days straight.
