I want to thank you and your staff for all you did to help us select and receive the beautiful miniature kiddush cups. We purchased these for our seniors who are residents of the Kobernick-Anchin campus here in Sarasota, Florida who previously had been using plastic cups! We dedicated the new kiddush cups at our Kabbalat Shabbat service - residents held the cups with such joy, they loved the Jerusalem design which reminded them of long-ago visits to Israel. Several residents with Alzheimer's spoke up, some for the first time in months. Thank you so much. Rabbi Barbara Aiello, resident rabbi, Kobernick Campus, Sarasota, FL
Sterling Silver Hanukkah Menorah: Solid Back Lions Motif by Hadad Bros.
This ornately decorated Lion back wall Hanukkah Menorah in sterling silver recreates many of the traditional symbols used for past generations on the Hanukkia. Made of sterling silver by Hadad Bros. of Israel, it weighs 613 grams.
When you light this stunning back wall Hanukkah Menorah you can feel generations lighting your Hanukkah candles with you. Generations old motifs will connect you to your roots when you look at and light this Hanukkia decorated with exuberance.
The smooth base of the Menorah rests atop small sterling silver legs, delicately carved to look like tops of ancient stone columns. The front panel of the base is decorated by three miniature faux jugs, etched with leaves and topped with a smooth round ball. Behind these jugs, eight cups for the candles are placed in a perfectly straight line, and are executed in smooth sterling silver, also shaped like a jug. Here of course the jugs open wide at the top, allowing them to receive either oil candles or wax candles.
Behind the candle cups, the back wall of the Menorah proclaims: "Let the party begin". The smooth center serves as a foil for menorah etched in the middle. This Menorah has seven stems, reminding us of the Menorah which was placed in the holy temple according to the instructions given to Moses. This Menorah picture is flanked by two lions which seem to be supporting it – a motif which is traditional in Hanukkias of yesteryear. The smooth silver around the lions is surrounded by a rich variety of etchings. Gorgeous paisley shapes, leaves and curves rise around the sides from behind the cups all the way to the top, where they are further decorated by three medallions surrounded by small silver circles. The whole is topped by a detailed, meticulously carved crown, reminiscent of crowns used to top the Torah scrolls when they are stored in synagogue sanctuaries.
On the right side of the back, an extra arm carved in leaves extends outwards, holding the ninth cup of the Hanukkia, traditional for the extra candle used to light all the other candles. This extra candle is called the "Shamash" and it is a custom to place it away from the line and height of the other eight Hanukkah candles.
A magnificent present, this Hanukkia could also be a wonderful addition to your Judaica collection. In any case, it will bring pleasure wherever it is used on the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah.
This Menorah is 10" tall and 9" wide (26cm x 23cm).
It weighs 613 gram.
