On the Sukkot holiday [also known as the Feast of Tabernacles] that closely follows the Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur Holidays, there is a commandment to take in hand four species [Arba minim] from the Land of Israel. A bound palm frond [Lulav], a branch from a myrtle tree [Hadass], a branch from a willow tree [Arava] and a fruit from the citron tree [Etrog]. These four symbols have special meanings and offer different blessings for the incoming New Year.
The etrog can be protected and carried to synagogue in this hand painted Etrog box designed by Yair Emanuel. It features the Jewish motifs common in his work and rests on four small feet. The box is easy to clean - a layer of lacquer protects the paint, so it can be wiped down with a damp sponge or cloth.
The Etrog box is available in two designs:
1-Jerusalem: The old city of Jerusalem. The Arch of Rambam's Synagague and the Western Wall are prominently displayed, and birds and flowers rendered in bright colors decorate the sides.
2-Oriental Florals: Flowering vines and branches, with birds resting between them cover each side and the cover of the box.
Dimensions: 6.3 x 4.3 x 4 inch (16 x 11 x 10.2 cm)
