'Motl, Peysi the Cantor's Son', in Hebrew 'Motl Ben Peysi Hachazan' is one of many wonderful Israeli classics in the Gesher Hebrew Series, a novel by Israel's most recognizably named authors, the wonderful Sholem Aleichem.
This particular novel was in fact the last gem of literature written by said Shalom Aleichem, and it was not quite finished at the time of his death. This version has been brought to the Intermediate Level Hebrew reader so that Hebrew learners can also enjoy the wealth of culture and penmanship unique to the language, as opposed to the boring textbook paragraphs and kids books that otherwise would be the sad portion of Hebrew literature actually readable by those who love the language enough to learn it. It only makes sense to bring the actually good literature to those who want to know what Hebrew is really about, after all.
