Those interested in advancing their spoken Hebrew quickly can greatly benefit by using the accelerated learning method described in this book, by Michael Rose and Ezri Uval. Accelerated learning is a system in which students can make significant progress in a short period of time without relying on memory alone.
In many languages, but especially in Hebrew, there are mathematical relationips between different forms of the same word. It is very easy to use those relationships to speed up Hebrew language learning. This means that from an existing word in Hebrew, it is possible to form new related words by altering one or two letters. This method will greatly reduce the amount of memory work needed to learn verb conjugation in Hebrew.
The book starts with the menorah diagram showing the seven verb groups (or Binyanim). It then builds on this to give a simple, systematic way of learning the different tenses and even the nouns based on the same root. Many other parts of the language start from verbs. This system helps the student to recognize patterns in unfamiliar words and aids in creating their own sentences.
