One group's nightmare of a mission during the First Lebanon War, June 1982.Hebrew language with only Hebrew subtitles. Israeli Film Academy Award Winner Available for PAL(EURO) and computer system.
June, 1982 - The First Lebanon War. A lone tank and a paratroopers platoon are dispatched to search a hostile town - a simple mission that turns into a nightmare. The four members of a tank crew find themselves in a violent situation that they cannot contain. Motivated by fear and the basic instinct of survival, they desperately try not to lose themselves in the chaos of war.+Unique war film by Shmulik Maoz, based on personal experiences, all taking place inside a tank. The film describes the horror he experienced in an Israeli tank crew attached to a paratroop force, during the first day of the Lebanon War in 1982. Following the navigation error of the force commander, they find themselves in territory controlled by the Syrian army; two plattoons of Christian fighters are sent to rescue them. The film's uniqueness stems from the fact that all outdoor action is shown only as what can be seen through the periscope of the tank, creating a very claustrophobic feeling.+Rated R for disturbing bloody war violence, language including sexual references, and some nudity.+Israel Drama 2009, 93 minsHebrew with Hebrew subtitles only.+Awards of the 2009 Israeli Film Academy

Reviews:+'Samuel Maoz’s new movie, Lebanon is a sensual film in the dictionary sense of the word. The majority of the action takes place inside the tank, and a hot, sweaty, rusted-out place it is, rank with the odours of men and fear'+-Toronto International Film Festival guide.
