Fifth Heaven is an Israeli film, directed by Dina Zvi  Riklis - The movie is an adaptation of the book by the same name, written by Rachel Eitan (Harper Collins, 1962), 
The plot begins in summer and takes place in Eretz Israel during the British Mandate.

The action revolves around three characters, who meet in one in the new land. They are lonely and looking for love. The  Protagonist, Maya. Thirteen year old Harmoni.who9 was abandoned by her father at an orphanage. After her mother ran away to America, her father remarried. Since his new wife does not get along with his daughter, he does not want to raise her. He deposits her at the orphanage with Dr. Dov Markowski who runs it. Markovski previously had an affair with the wife of the father and the story hints that he may Maya's real father. Markovski is trying to get closer to the Maya, but she does not allow him to. She falls in love with Il Duce , a member of the Lehi and Rose's fiance. Rose is the daughter of a Kibbutz volunteer who works at the orphanage. Bertha, who fled from religious life is having an affair with Jimmy, the British officer. She expects him to take it with her to England when his tour of duty ends. Wolfson, is a successful contractor, the son of the well known philanthropist. He wants to close the orphanage and turn the building into a toilet paper factory. Frida is leader of the dorm. She is tough and very controling. Between her and Markovski there is mutual attraction, But it is never satisfied. Fannie Paula, the cook is a strange figure in the orphanage. Her melancholy gradually infects the whole orphanage. Everyone waiting for the end of World War II to bring real change.
The film was nominated for five Ophir Awards in 2011 and won the award for costume design (Rona Doron).
