The first film directed by famed Israeli actor, Moshe Ivgy, the Israeli movie And on the Third Day (Be yom hashlishi) is a highly artistic film and has been viewed by many as one of the best Hebrew films to be released in 2010.
Moshe Ivgy’s movie takes place in a futuristic Tel Aviv where he has purposefully over-exaggerated the negative stereotypes of the city in order to give a critique of Israeli society. Over the course of three days, the lives of 7 different characters are woven together in this setting. In this environment, the characters try desperately to regain control of their lives despite the chaotic atmosphere, searching for normalcy and meaning in their lives.
Through the interactions of the characters and the various encounters that take place between them, Ivgy has fashioned a story, which seeks to be critical of the society in Israel in hopes perhaps of bringing about changes in the society.
Noted for its artistry and riveting performances, And on the Third Day (Be yom hashlishi) is one of the top 2010 movies in Israel and should be added to any personal collection of Israeli Movies.
