Alexander Winery is located on Moshav Beit Yitzhak in the Sharon region. The boutique winery, founded by Yoram Shalom in 1996, receives grapes mainly from vineyards under contract but over which it has full control. These vineyards are Kerem Ben Zimra in the Upper Galilee.
Grape varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and have been expanded to include Syrah and Grenache grapes.
The winery, writes Israeli wine critic Daniel Rogov, produces two 'top-of-the-line' boutique wine series, Alexander the Great and Alexander. It also produces two blended wines, Gaston and Sandro, and makes private label wine for many restaurants in Israel.
Growth is steady, and increasing from about 12,000 bottles in 2002 to a production of 45,000 in 2005 and 2006. In2006 the winery switched over to kosher production and output since then has been approximately 45,000-50,000 bottles.
