Max Brenner Fine Chocolate was founded in 1996 in Ra'anana, Israel, by Max Fichtman and Oded Brenner who combined their names to give a name to the fictional "Bald Man" Supposedly behind these fine chocolates. The business started with one small shop in the shopping district selling delicious handmade chocolates.

Brenner met chocolatier Michel Chaudun and convinced the maestro to take him on as apprentice in Chaudun's Paris chocolaterie. He worked hard and studied his master's method from 1990, for six long years. In this traditional way brenner learned the art of fine chocolate-making in Paris that he brought to Israel.
