Hailing from the Golan Heights Winery in the city of Katzrin in the northern part of Israel, this aromatic and satisfying wine is made from two traditional Portuguese varieties, the Touriga Nacional and Tinta Cao and aged in French oak barrels. The vineyards are 400 meters above sea level and they are located in the coldest part of Israel where it snows in the winter. These varieties have been harvested from vineyards in the South and Central parts of the Golan and lend an intriguing sensual flavor. The Israeli wine has intense aromas from chocolate, smoke, tobacco, spice and earth. In addition, the wine has been fortified with brandy during fermentation. The brandy helps to preserve the wine’s sweetness.
