This light Israeli wine is not the type to knock out your guests with a heavy taste shortly followed by bleary-eyed goodbyes and searching for the nearest bed, but rather to bring them to their toes, feeling refreshed and ready to relax.
Pinot noir wines such as these are quite difficult to grow in the Israeli climate, or in fact almost any climate. The name Pinot Noir is French for “black pine”, an allusion to the tendency of the grapes necessary for the production of such fine wines grow in tightly packed pinecone shaped clusters, a quality which makes them extremely difficult to grow because of their tendency to develop defects which spoil the grape for our high standards. However, we considered the delightful fruity and complex aromas and flavors emerging from these grapes a must have for our collection of wines, thus well worth the obstacles along the way.
