The star of David is a symbol attributed to Judaism nowadays and it is thought that the possible root for that symbolism being connected to Judaism is through King David of old. It is not certain whether it was the symbol on his shield or the shape of his shield or something else altogether but the name we’ve given the six pointed star in Hebrew, ‘Magen David’, means the shield of David.
