The Western Wall, located in Old Jerusalem, is a central location to Jews of the world, a symbol of homecoming after thousands of years of exile. Every year on the Ninth of the Hebrew month of Av the Jews fast and mourn for the loss of the temple of old, which used to be situated on top of the Temple Mount (known in Hebrew as the “Har Habayit”), which is located behind the Western Wall in the old city of Jerusalem.
