I want to thank you and your staff for all you did to help us select and receive the beautiful miniature kiddush cups. We purchased these for our seniors who are residents of the Kobernick-Anchin campus here in Sarasota, Florida who previously had been using plastic cups! We dedicated the new kiddush cups at our Kabbalat Shabbat service - residents held the cups with such joy, they loved the Jerusalem design which reminded them of long-ago visits to Israel. Several residents with Alzheimer's spoke up, some for the first time in months. Thank you so much. Rabbi Barbara Aiello, resident rabbi, Kobernick Campus, Sarasota, FL

The word ""Kiddush,"" translates to sanctification in Hebrew. It refers to the blessing that is recited over wine or grape juice poured inside the cup, and can occur on Friday evenings before the meal when Shabbat begins, and also the following morning and afternoons. The reciting is a commandment of the Torah. After the Kiddush passage has been recited, the person who did the reciting drinks from the Kiddush cup, and then passes it to other participants, who then drink from the cup as well.
