Description

A heartwarming comedy about the bond and strength of female power and friendship and the importance of ancient rituals and customs. The movie follows the collapse of the balcony of the women’s section during a bar mitzvah, which results in many injuries and the rebbetzin is in a coma. Their rabbi, in turn, collapses from the emotional turmoil. In search of a new synagogue they find a new rabbi who convinces the men to encourage their wives to be more modest and keep more mitzvoth. A group of women set about raising funds and rebuilding the balcony. This new charismatic rabbi soon comes into conflict with the women as he uses the money raised for the balcony to buy a Sefer Torah instead.
