Dorit of Doriit Judaica is a seventh generation Israeli from a family tree rooted firmly in Jerusalem on her maternal side. Yoske, her father, served in the Palmach, and fell in love with the country and its nature and landscapes, poetry, art, writing and culture. Finding inspiration in the holidays and events on the Jewish calendar, Dorit makes her Judaica art with love, connection, and a sense of gratitude toward God for the beauty she has been gifted with the talent to see and create. The aesthetics, composition, music, art and colors of her parents' home breathed the creativity into her, and has led her, under the encouragement of her mother, to explore many forms and mediums of art.
Jewish art and Judaica have always been her inspiration point, as an observant Jewish woman, but for a while she worked as a graphic designer, gradually making her then hobby of Judaica art into her main business. Every piece that she creates is unique, a mix of modern and old, traditional with different styles incorporated into the pieces to make them truly stand out as special and contemporary.
Weaving prayers and blessings and texts into her art creations based on the different events in Jewish life, she expresses herself and her love of Judaism through her pieces and designs.
Dorit's studio is located in Petach Tikvah, Israel, in her home's backyard. The family atmosphere extends to all of the staff there and a warmth that shows in her art exudes from the place where these products are incubated and brought to fruition, with beauty, grace, light and joy.
Whether the piece be decorative or functional for one of the Jewish traditions and events, these art pieces are full of the heartfelt warmth of the artist, and are high quality and long lasting, which makes them terrific gifts. They are beloved worldwide as well as in Israel, and are showcased in various galleries across the globe.
